Rehearsals are well underway as we step into the rhythm of time with “Showstoppers – The Evolution of Sound,” a production that sprang from the imagination of one of our Year 11 students in 2023.
Showstoppers - The Evolution of Sound, led by a cast of 100 dynamic staff and students from Junior through to Senior School, this show promises to be a sensational journey through the ages of music.
Capturing the essence of musical evolution from the groovy 1950s to today’s cutting-edge sounds was no small feat. How did we select just a handful of songs from each era? With sheer determination, we curated a stellar lineup featuring hits from luminaries like David Bowie, The Beatles, Birds of Tokyo, Abba, and more.
But it’s not just about the music; it’s about the journey. Picture the stage ablaze with vibrant dancers, infectious rhythms from our staff and student big band, and heart-swelling harmonies from our mass choir. From rock to pop, disco to metal, and everything in between, we traverse the vast landscape of musical genres and performance styles.
