Middle School (Year 7 - 9)

We believe the way to educate students for their future cannot be based on the way we were dictated to in our past. Our approach to teaching and learning in the Middle School, aims to challenge and develop students who…

... have the right to be individuals and to choose their own learning paths

... are passionate, creative and inquisitive individuals who are ‘masters of their own learning’

... are excited about coming to school. Every. Single. Day.

... are compassionate people who work with local and global communities to solve problems and make a difference which helps them to develop empathy and understand their place in the world.

Using the Australian Curriculum, we deliver the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IB MYP). This inquiry based approach encourages students to look at the world from a different perspective, explore a range of opportunities and subject areas, experience freedom in choice… and in doing so ‘find their spark’.

The step from primary school to a secondary setting can be significant for both students and parents.

Specialist subjects are delivered by specialist teachers in the areas of Japanese (two terms), German (2 terms), Design and Digital Technologies, The Arts, Food and Fibre Farming, and Food and Hospitality.

... task-orientated

... relevant

... purposeful

... connected to real life

... FUN!

The elective program is designed to promote collaboration, resilience and problem solving, also giving students extended opportunities to build relationships with teachers and their peers outside of a traditional classroom setting.

Our inquiry approach enables each student to develop a greater depth and understanding of the topics being explored as they develop their passions and expertise in particular subjects.

It is really important for us at Faith to give students the opportunity to have input into what they learn and how they learn. The elective program provides an opportunity for students to not only engage with areas of passion and interest, but to take learning to a much deeper level.
