Shaping the way children grow

Playground spaces have been an integral part of Faith’s Junior School since the very beginning, shaping the way children learn, connect and grow. The newly completed Junior Primary playground is a vibrant continuation of this tradition, created not only for students, but with them. From the earliest stages, students worked alongside Climbing Tree Creations and designer Simon to imagine, plan and bring the space to life, ensuring their voices shaped the final design.

Equally important was the learning that followed. Students took responsibility for exploring how to play safely, then shared this knowledge with their peers, building ownership, confidence and care for their new environment. The playground now offers opportunities for imaginative play, regulation, and exploring risk and challenge in a safe, supported way.

This project also reflects a proud history of parent and community involvement. Faith’s Parents and Friends group - continuing a legacy that began with the School’s Welfare Guild in the 1940s - supported the addition of a new shade sail over the sandpit. Their ongoing contribution highlights the strength of partnership between families and the College.

Already a much-loved space, the playground invites students to climb, dig, imagine and collaborate - practising agency, teamwork and responsibility. It will continue to inspire creativity and connection for years to come.
