Learning in action

Celebrating our Story Wednesday, 10 Sept 2025

Since 2021, Faith has been recognised as an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, the first regional school in South Australia to offer the Middle Years Programme, and since 2023, the Primary Years Programme. The IB framework encourages curiosity, real-world connections, and inquiry-based learning, equipping students with practical skills, global perspectives, and compassion.

This approach comes to life in experiences like the Year 1/2 visit to Apex Bakery, a Barossa icon known across generations, where students explored how culture and tradition continue to shape daily life.

In the Middle Years, the Elective Program builds on an inquiry approach, offering students opportunities to step beyond the classroom in an area of passion or interest such as robotics, chess, small motors, crochet, film composition, café skills, and more. Electives foster collaboration, confidence, and self-reflection, encouraging students to grow both personally and socially.

Each year, Year 9 students also undertake a self-initiated Community Project, a hallmark of the IB’s values of action and service. From bake sales and environmental clean-ups to supporting charities and visiting aged-care homes, students identify a need and work with peers and mentors to make a meaningful impact in the community, developing empathy, responsibility, and a strong sense of global citizenship.
