Friends of Faith are a group of caring and committed parents whose main aim is to support and promote the interests and welfare of all aspects of the school.
While fundraising is an important part of this role, parental education and social activities also feature on their calendar.
A great deal of fun and fellowship is enjoyed at events like Magnolia Fare which raise substantial funds for the school.
Money raised to date has been used for many projects, including purchase of equipment for various subject faculties, a bike shelter, upgrading kitchen facilities, and air-conditioning classrooms. Sponsorship has also been given for student sports awards, leadership camps, and delegates for the United Nations Youth Association.
Providing information about the Families Matter programme and inviting guest speakers to address such topics as drug and alcohol misuse are other ways that Friends of Faith provide support to parents.
Many Friends of Faith members become Village Care Group Representatives who work with Village Care Group Teachers to inform and remind parents of special events (via email, phone or letter), encourage parental involvement in school activities
and enhance the social functioning of Village Groups. They can also be a contact person for parents who may have an issue but are not sure where to address it in the school.
Being involved with Friends of Faith is a great way to make a worthwhile contribution to Faith and to develop lasting friendships.
Regular meetings are held and any interested parents are very welcome to attend.
